2:22 A Ghost Story at The Alexandra: Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐A fun spooky story.
Directed by Matthew Dunster and Gabriel Vega Weissman, written by Danny Robins
Set in a single lounge/kitchen of a Victorian house, 2:22 is a modern ghost story exploring the home of Sam and Jenny as they have a friend, Lauren, over with her new boyfriend, Ben. As the story unfolds, Jenny has been feeling spooky things happen in the home when she’s been on her own, and she invites the others to stay awake until 2:22, when the next event is due to happen.

This is a popular show, and it is easy to see why audiences enjoy its twists and turns. The sounds of foxes are utilised throughout to make the audience jump. There is plenty of music and music references to add to the audience experience.
Kevin Clifton is a suitable skeptic as Sam, who looks for the scientific answers to all the mysteries. Jenny becomes more paranoid as the story progresses, and Stacey Dooley’s realism adds to her performance as Jenny.

Shvorne Marks has the bulk of the emotion to carry, as Lauren is the glue connecting this group. Grant Kilburn is fun as Ben, with his personality unfolding throughout the story.
A fun spooky story 2:22 A Ghost Story is at The Alexandra until 18th October. Book tickets here: atgtickets.com/venues/the-alexandra-theatre-birmingham
