May 2023: Birmingham Bears, the Edgbaston-based cricket team, has revealed the return of their popular coffee van tour across six locations to celebrate the new T20 launch event, Vitality Blast Off.

Bears on Tour is set to once again tour across the West Midlands from Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th May, for a six-stop road trip across Birmingham and Coventry, to highlight the start of the new Vitality Blast T20 competition on Saturday 20th May at Edgbaston and the team’s kit, which is sustainably produced from recycled coffee beans.

Bears on Tour 2023

Here’s the 2023 Tour Schedule:

  • Tuesday 9th May, 8am to 11.30am: Brindleyplace, central Birmingham
  • Tuesday 9th May, 12.30pm to 3.30pm: Cathedral Square, central Birmingham
  • Wednesday 10th May, 10am to 3pm: Southside District, Hippodrome Square
  • Thursday 11th May, 10am to 3pm: Birmingham City University
  • Friday 12th May, 9am to 12pm: Broadgate, Coventry City Centre
  • Friday 12th May, 1pm to 3.30pm: Edgwick Park, Foleshill, Coventry

Throughout the four-day tour, the public will have the chance to enjoy a selection of free, freshly brewed hot drinks in branded Birmingham Bears cups. Players from Birmingham Bears will also be visiting the coffee van at selected locations, offering fans the opportunity to stop for a brew and meet their favourite player.

Fans who love their coffee as much as their live sport can take part in a prize draws at each location for the opportunity to win special prizes, including home tickets to catch the Bears in action in the Vitality Blast T20 season this summer.

There are just over two weeks to go until Edgbaston hosts the new T20 launch event, Blast Off, on Saturday 20th May. The day will see four teams compete across two matches, including the Birmingham Bears’ opener against Yorkshire Vikings, and fans can expect an atmosphere to rival Finals Day. Tickets are available from just £25, with under 16s £5.

Chris Airey, Head of Marketing at Edgbaston, said:

Supporting Birmingham Bears is about more than just cricket – it’s about the community and who the Bears represent.

Last year, ‘Bears on Tour’ was a great way for us to get out and about and have a chance to interact with fans and locals across the region before kicking off another exciting season, and we can’t wait to visit even more locations and have a brew with even more of our supporters.”

A match ticket for a Bears game includes: kids inflatables, live music and free giveaways for all. To view this season’s fixtures and to buy tickets, please visit edgbaston.com/bears.
