Curated Markets arrive at Birmingham’s Great Western Arcade

This week Great Western Arcade in central Birmingham has announced a new series of free to attend Curated Markets. The first market will take place on Saturday 29th July from 11am to 5pm and will focus on local food and drink producers.
Great Western Arcade is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community hub, and this new initiative will see the arcade using its space to help showcase the incredible talent of the region’s producers and craftspeople. Each market will have a different focus, where visitors can also enjoy unique experiences such as workshops, activities and talks.
Traders and treats confirmed for the event on 29th July 2023 include:
- Brilliant bakers Yum Sweet Treats and Blissful Batter.
- Award-winning traditional Baklava from Baklavci Birmingham.
- Sustainable foraging masters Forij,
- Award-winning Cockle Man Rod Murtaugh who will have a host of seafood treats and traditional pies.
- Juice Medic offering their selection of fresh healthy cold pressed juice shots.
- Other traders will be announced on GWA’s social media channels.
Dr B will be on hand to give you the lowdown on all things beekeeping, with free talks throughout the day (at Noon, 1.30 and 3pm) as well as delicious local honey to purchase.
Local artist Ginger Dan will be hosting a foodie-themed drawing workshop where you can create your own masterpiece. Take a break or sing Molly Malone with Rod Murtaugh, or even blend your very own smoothie using pedal power (from Noon to 2pm, all proceeds go to charity).
Great Western Arcade’s food and drink market takes place on Saturday 29th July from 11am to 5pm.

Noon – The beekeeping year
1:30pm – Life inside the hive
3:00pm – What the bees need to survive
