New Lunch items at
Tim Hortons UK

This week Tim Hortons UK has launched three new items on to its menu and I was invited to pop down and try a lunch combo deal out. These new items are Tims® Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Tims® Chicken Tenders and a Meatball Wrap.

Since it opened, about a year ago, fairly brazenly opposite Starbucks on New Street, Tim Hortons has been winning customers with a different menu and been competing on price. A Canadian chain which first appeared in the UK in Scotland a few years ago, Tim Hortons offers, donuts, coffee and my favourite, the cheese toastie.

Tuesday 4.45pm

It’s averagely busy in Tim Hortons and there about three people in front of me which gives me time to take a few photos and accept that I’m not here for a cheese toastie.

The server at the till recognises me from my twenty or so previous cheese toastie visits, I do want to try the Tims® Chicken Tenders, but I settle on having Tims® Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Wedges and a bottle of Coke Zero, this would normally come to £5.89 as a meal (Plus whatever the sugar tax is should you want a full-fat coke..)

After placing an order the customer is assigned an order number and must head to the collection point to pick up. I head upstairs with my tray of very late lunch and find a seat by the window.

This is quite a good space to come to for people watching out of the window and also excellent if you are in town by yourself.

My wedges are a bit browner than usual but I’m really here to try this Tims® Crispy Chicken Sandwich, I was a bit iffy about how the bun looked on other people’s photos but it seems quite nice. The chicken, however, is delicious! Much more chunky than I was expecting. Less than 15 minutes after arriving I’m off again. Fed, watered and feeling a lot less hangry than on my arrival.

I will be trying the tenders next time but my cheese toastie still wins!

Check out the menu here: timhortons.co.uk.

Tim Hortons UK is on the corner of New Street and Lower Temple Street and opens from 6am to 11.30pm (9am to 8pm Sundays). Only the ground floor is fully accessible. This branch is less than one minute walk from Birmingham New Street Station and about ten minutes walk from Birmingham Snow Hill Station and Birmingham Moor Street Station.
