Morridge arrives at Birmingham’s
Great Western Arcade

Monday 25th February: Great Western Arcade, the unique shopping and lifestyle destination in the heart of Birmingham, welcomes its latest independent food and beverage retailer, Morridge.

Naomi Morris, Founder of Morridge

Following the success of its pop-up at Digbeth Dining Club, Morridge, the brainchild of Naomi Morris, will be taking up an initial six-week residency in the arcade, until 7th April.

The bespoke, up-cycled Morridge trike will be pitched in the middle of the arcade, serving a variety of wholesome, organic oat-based porridge options, complete with inventive ingredient combinations. Morridge will be using disposable pots, spoons and napkins that are all 100% plant starch and compostable.

Shaun Mountain, centre manager at Great Western Arcade, said

This type of porridge offering is already popular in leading cities such as London and Copenhagen, so we are thrilled to have Morridge join the Great Western Arcade family. The trike looks fantastic and the porridge tastes even better, so we can’t wait for people to experience it for themselves.”

Naomi Morris, Morridge founder, said:

After purchasing a trike the aim was to secure a city centre location near the main train stations, where commuters, shoppers, students and business people could grab a wholesome, warming porridge, with a range of interesting organic flavours and toppings. Great Western Arcade fits the bill perfectly, and as an advocate of independent businesses I couldn’t think of a better location. I’d like to thank Shaun and his team for all their support.”

Naomi Morris is a local chef entrepreneur who has worked in the kitchens of highly-regarded restaurants in this country and overseas, including a stage at Tom Kerridge’s Hand and Flowers and worked at Rick Stein in Mollymook, Australia, as well working for Lee Desanges and Baked in Brick.

Morridge serving times will be from 7:30am to 10:30am, Monday to Friday. For more information, visit greatwesternarcade.co.uk or search Great Western Arcade on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
