Six Young Curators, commissioned by Moseley Road Baths to create a new digital creation inspired by the Baths, have launched an innovative new podcast called Bathcasts. Developed over a six-month period, the Young Curators Programme was part of Moseley Road Baths Diving In Project and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Young Curators – Bathcasts

Each podcast is hosted by comedian Rachel Baker, interviewing people connected to the historic baths about their lives, the community building, with the interviews taking place within one of Moseley Road Baths bathtubs. Alongside these interviews, the Young Curators have commissioned original poetry and music for each episode from ten Birmingham artists.

Gaby Songui, Creative Producer for the Young Curators Programme said:

Telling their own stories has been key to the Young Curators programme, with each of the Curators considering their experiences in Balsall Heath, as creatives, at Moseley Road Baths and it’s been brilliant seeing this result in an innovative series of podcasts.

The podcast encourages you to listen to it in the bath at home, immersing yourself in water at the same times as our interviewees.”

The podcasts are available weekly until mid-January and can be found on Spotify here: open.spotify.com/playlist/2eZPnvGZj855ENC1swZUmm.

Each week includes a different interviewee including Adam Wynn, Malikah and Shazia, Sadim Garvey, Ayan Aden and Fabio Henriques, all individuals with a connection to Moseley Road Baths.
