Please note that as I saw Dead Good as a preview. Certain aspects of the show may change before the official premiere on 31st January 2020 and tour.

Vamos Theatre’s Dead Good

Written and directed by Rachael Savage

Bob and Bernard are both dealing with terminal news about their health when they appear to cross paths for the first time at hospital. They find themselves at a hospice where they strike up an unconventional approach to friendship.

Performed with actors wearing the signature full face masks of Vamos Theatre, this is a one-hour and some minutes story told without words and filled with the original music of Janie Armour. The third production by this theatre group I’ve seen following Finding Joy which tackled dementia and A Brave Face which tackled post-traumatic stress in the army.

The cast features four actors Aron De Casmaker as Bob, James Greaves as Bernard, Angela Laverick as Marie and Joshua Patel as Shefali.

Dead Good – Vamos Theatre

I loved this thoughtful production and while some people might find the style of storytelling challenging, its fascinating to see how stories without dialogue are told. The story is filled with warm gentle humour peppered amongst the heavier moments.

Vamos Theatre’s Dead Good is touring the UK with dates announced until late April 2020. Book tickets here: vamostheatre.co.uk/shows/show/dead-good
