Via Chris for St Basils
St Basils is introducing a new Halloween experience: Run for Home takes place on Friday 27th October, an electrifying event that challenges participants to find their way back to central Birmingham from a mysterious starting point, all while evading the clutches of the unknown. This spine-chilling adventure combines charity, extreme athleticism, and the thrill of an exciting challenge in a nightmarish world.
Participants will need to be fit, they will be dropped off thirty miles from central Birmingham, and their mission is to outwit and outrun the zombies that stand between them and safety. This unique experience is more than just a race; it’s a true test of physical endurance, mental fortitude, and the desire to overcome the odds. All runners are also asked to raise the spooky amount of £666 to help support St Basils vital work.
Barrie Hodge, Head of Fundraising and Communications at St Basils said:
The Run for Home event promises a Halloween experience that’s in a league of its own. Personally, as a keen participant in extreme running events and a conqueror of a few ultra-marathons, I can vouch for the unique rush of fear and exhilaration that drives this event.
It’s not just about challenging your physical boundaries; it’s about rallying for a great cause. With every step you take during this heart-pounding escape, you’re not only evading zombies – you’re also taking significant strides towards eradicating youth homelessness.
Every penny raised goes straight into funding St Basils vital work. So, lace up those trainers and get ready to run for a cause that truly counts!”
