Season Preview: Belgrade Theatre, Coventry Autumn and Winter 2021/2022
Belgrade Theatre heads into the Autumn with tours and homegrown productions as it continues to demonstrate why Coventry is the UK City of Culture for 2021.
The Play That Goes Wrong (13th to 18th September)
A parody of both Agatha Christie murder mysteries and amateur theatre, The Play That Goes Wrong is a chaotic hit sensation and well worth a trip to the theatre.

Connected BBC Contains Strong Language 2021, Belgrade Theatre website says:
BBC Audio Drama North in collaboration with Belgrade Theatre Coventry present the premiere of Karla Marie Sweet’s audio drama, This Little Relic.

Being Mr Wickham (30th September to 2nd October)
Adrian Lukis returns to the role of Mr Wickham in this 70 minute production featuring the Pride and Prejudice character.

The Ruff Tuff Cream Puff Estate Agency (9th to 16th October)
This Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Cardboard Citizens and Coventry UK City of Culture musical co-production is based on an original work by Heathcote Williams and explores the first ever “estate agency for squatters”.

Dirty Dancing (2nd to 6th November)
The story of Baby and Johnny heads back on tour in Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage.

SeaView (10th to 13th November)
Part of Coventry UK City of Culture 2021, Belgrade Theatre said:
An original idea by Corey Campbell, SeaView is a family drama with an unsettling supernatural element that is rooted in the experiences of working class communities in the West Midlands. Two sides of one family struggle against the crushing pressure to escape the often brutal reality of their lives.

Beauty and the Beast (25th November to 8th January)
Coventry’s own Batman and Robin, Iain Lauchlan and Craig Hollingsworth are back on the stage after a year trapped in streaming video, delayed from December 2020, Beauty and the Beast will feature writer Iain Lauchlan own take on the much loved story. Expect family fun, very adult jokes and a whole pile of of mess in the kitchen.

Santa’s Magical Mystery Guest (9th to 24th December)
