Jam packed with touring shows plus local content from BMOS and an annual theatre experience. The Alexandra has plenty to check out before the end of August 2020.


Ghost Stories (8th to 11th January)

Who doesn’t love a show that comes with a warning? The Alexandra’s booking page says:

Please note: Ghost Stories contains moments of extreme shock and tension. The show is unsuitable for anyone under the age of 15. We strongly advise those of a nervous disposition to think very seriously before attending.

The Bodyguard (21st January to 1st February)

Not the BBC One TV show which is also sort of based on the Whitney Houston film. This is the UK tour of the hit production starting Alexandra Burke at.. The Alexandra.

Kay Mellor’s Band Of Gold (10th to 15th February)

Laurie Brett, Gaynor Faye, Kieron Richardson, Shayne Ward and Sacha Parkinson bring the ground-breaking drama to the stage.


Peter Pan Goes Wrong (18th to 22nd February)

Underlying tensions are exposed when Vincent and Anna reveal what they will name their child. This Birmingham Rep production of the hit French comedy drama comes to The Alexandra as part of its first UK tour.

The Alexandra says:

Accident prone Frank Spencer returns to the stage played by Joe Pasquale as the 1970s comedy comes to life.

Once tells the uplifting yet yearning story of a part-time Dublin guitarist busker (who works by day in his dad’s Hoover repair shop) who falls unexpectedly in love with a young Czech immigrant fellow musician. Fame (Moved to 25th to 28th August 2021)

Following 2019’s production of Singin’ in the Rain, the Alexandra Stage Experience returns for 2020 with Fame. Set over four years the story tells the life of students at the famous New York school for performing arts.

The Alexandra is less than five minutes walk from Birmingham New Street Station and ten minutes walk from Birmingham Moor Street Station.
