Soon: Argentine Tango at Kilder Bar with Tango Oso
Via Diane Parkes for Tango Oso
April 2023: Dance enthusiasts and complete beginners are invited to Argentine Tango taster classes and social ‘milonga’ dances in Birmingham’s Digbeth.
Organised by Tango Oso and taking place every Sunday afternoon through July, the Bajo El Arco (underneath the arch) classes and milongas are open to all – with no experience necessary.
Argentine tango emerged from the barrios of Argentinian capital Buenos Aires in the 19th century and has become popular across the globe. Now these new classes and social dances aim to encourage people in Birmingham to discover the world of tango.
David Acunzo of Tango Oso said:
We’re inviting people to come and dance under the arches at Kilder Bar to the sounds of Buenos Aires.
You don’t need experience, or a partner, just come along and you’ll be introduced to the art and etiquette of tango. Plus you can enjoy craft beers, ciders, wines and cocktails selected by the award-winning bar.”
Taster classes take place at Kilder Bar, 5, Shaw’s Passage in Digbeth, central Birmingham on on 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th July 2023 between 3pm to 4pm followed by milongas between 4pm to 8pm. Places for the class and milonga combined cost £10 per week payable on the door with discounts available if booking all five.
