Soon: BDF Conference 2021 from Birmingham Design Festival
Opening this year’s BDF Conference is The Creative City a new exhibition of colourful work celebrating Birmingham.
Opening this Summer’s postponed Birmingham Design Festival is a new and exciting exhibition launching on Monday 16th August, titled The Creative City. Aligning with this years theme of Colour this is an exciting and vibrant exhibition, confidently celebrating Birmingham.
Over 100 of our regions finest illustrators, designers, typographers, printmakers and artists have all produced a large format poster – utilising the same colour palette. The work is a mixture of the personal and commercial, featuring everything from family histories to celebrations of food and music.
Kicking-off BDF is an exhibition of the work at full 60×40″ size, pasted up onto A-boards, held in Factory Works at the Custard Factory in Digbeth. Join us in a Covid-compliant way to view the work on Monday 16th August, from 6pm to 11pm.
Catalogues of all the work will be for sale, printed beautifully by local firm Clarkeprint, utilising gorgeous G.F Smith papers. One-off, ‘actual size’ prints will also be auctioned.

The full gallery of work will be available to view at bdf.gallery and a selection of the posters will be brightening up the city thanks to our outdoor advertising partner Jack Arts.
Featured artists include: Annatomix, Imbue, Old Bort, Fokawolf, Seven9 Signs, Justin Sola, Ben Javens, Mark Murphy, Superfreak, Window Artists, Hapico, Brumhaus, Barbara Gibson, Common Curiosity, Joseph Frascina, Keith Dodds, Michelle Turton, Roots 0121 and Pickle Illustration plus 80 more.
