April 2022: As businesses are being called upon to better support the well-being of their staff, Colmore BID’s Wellbeing Fortnight returns 3rd to 13th May 2022. To aid businesses with providing this support, Colmore BID has teamed up with MK Healthhub, PureGym Snow Hill, Sun Kyeong and Brewin Dolphin to deliver two weeks of webinars and classes to kickstart the process of managing wellbeing.

Over 15 physical and virtual classes will take place between 3rd to 13th May, all delivered by qualified fitness and wellbeing experts. MK Healthhub, a leading provider of health and fitness advice will host a mixture of in-person and virtual classes including yoga, Pilates and mental wellbeing.

PureGym instructors will be leading a fitness class on weight loss and will discuss the best options for maintaining this loss, while holistic therapists Sun Kyeonglead a group session of meditation. With living costs on the rise, which in turn is resulting in an increase in the number of cases of anxiety, wealth management experts Brewin Dolphin will also lead a session on financial wellbeing.

Wellbeing Fortnight

Michele Wilby, CEO of Colmore BID, said:

2020 and 2021 were all about adjusting to lockdowns and isolation and while we are no longer required to remain working from home, the effects on people’s mental and physical wellbeing remain ever-present. In order to get the most out of their employees, more and more businesses are now looking at how they can support their staff’s mental wellbeing.

This is far more than just increasing salaries and annual leave. We need to better understand the challenges our teams face both at work and home to see what realistic support we can provide. By creating that nurturing environment, presenteeism will decrease and employees will be much happier in the workplace, meaning a more productive workforce.

Our Wellbeing Fortnight programme does not claim to ‘fix’ people’s wellbeing problems, but rather provide a taste of what support is out there. Everyone’s needs are different, so by sampling a few of the classes, you can experiment with what may work for you before investing further time and money.”

Colmore BID’s Wellbeing Fortnight runs from 3rd to 13th May. For more information and to book onto any of the sessions, visit eventbrite.com/cc/wellbeing-fortnight-286599
