Simon Webbe (From Blue and Strictly Come Dancing) will be headlining Twycross Zoo’s final Summer Sundown event of 2022.
Taking place after-hours at the Zoo on Saturday 3rd September 2022, the event promises a wild evening of music and entertainment to mark the end of the summer holidays.
Following the hugely-popular Summer Sundown event in July, featuring McFly’s Dougie Poynter, Twycross Zoo is offering visitors another chance to enjoy live entertainment and an exclusive after-hours zoo experience.
Ahead of Simon’s evening DJ set, guests will be able to enter the 100-acre zoo from 5pm to discover hundreds of animals including many endangered species, at a time never usually seen by the public. Tickets start at £27 and can be booked via twycrosszoo.org.
Brit Award-winning Simon Webbe is a member of the hugely successful boyband Blue, who have sold more than 13 million records worldwide, scoring eleven Top Ten hits and four Top Ten albums in the UK alone. During Blue’s hiatus, Simon released two best-selling solo albums, which included the hits Lay Your Hands, No Worries and After All This Time. He has also appeared on numerous television shows around the world, including a run on series eight of I’m A Celebrity… on ITV and the twelfth series of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One.
New for September’s Summer Sundown, visitors can upgrade their evening experience by purchasing one of the limited VIP Tickets, which includes a mimosa drinks reception in the Zoo’s innovative Gibbon Forest habitat before the evening entertainment begins.
Richard Loftus, marketing director at Twycross Zoo, said:
Our Summer Sundown event offers visitors the unique chance to experience the zoo in a brand-new way. We’re so excited to welcome popstar Simon Webbe to Twycross Zoo for this exclusive after-hours DJ set which will round off the summer in style.
Events like these help us to turn up the volume on our conservation charity and continue our vital work protecting some of the world’s most endangered species with whom we share our planet.”
During the Summer Sundown event an animal welfare officer will be present, alongside the zookeepers, to care for the animals. Sound levels will be monitored and animal houses will be closed during the evening at times appropriate for the animals.
