Support Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals Charity with Jolly Jumper Day

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals Charity is calling on caring supporters to pull on their best Christmas sweaters to do their bit in a festive knit on Friday 11th December for its annual Jolly Jumper Day.

Supporters and staff at the two hospitals will be wearing their best Christmas jumpers to spread festive cheer and raise vital funds to help patients and their families the whole year round – and they want you to join them. To take part, all you need to do is dust off your favourite festive pullover, join together with friends, schoolmates, family or colleagues, and make a suggested donation of £2.00 each to the hospitals.

Supporters needn’t let the lockdown spoil the fun either, if you can’t come together in person, you can still do so virtually, by hosting an online party to showcase your crazy Christmas knits. Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity is also hoping to see plenty of activity on social media on the day. Just post a selfie in your festive knit to your preferred platform using the hashtag #JollyJumperDay and join the trend.

By taking part in Jolly Jumper Day for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, supporters will help make this Christmas as magical as possible for young patients who are too poorly to be at home and ensure they and their families can still make precious memories that will last a lifetime.

Anyone who chooses to take part in Jolly Jumper Day for Birmingham Women’s Hospital Charity will be supporting the £3.5million Woodland House Appeal. The appeal will bring a brand-new purpose-built bereavement centre to the hospital, which every year, cares for over 2,000 grieving mums and dads who have experienced pregnancy or baby loss.

Miranda Williams, Head of Public Fundraising at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals Charity, said:

Jolly Jumper Day is one of the easiest and most fun ways to get involved and support our patients and families this Christmas. All you have to do is don your favourite festive sweater and donate whatever you can. Don’t worry if you can’t make Friday 11 December, you can wear your Jolly Jumper on a day to suit you, just make sure you tell us when you register your event.”

This year, the charity is also suggesting that supporters create a JustGiving page to help collect donations without handling cash.
