pledges support for local businesses

Sutton Coldfield Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) has pledged its support to local businesses, creating a hub of resources to guide local businesses through the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Business owners and employees can access a wide range of advice and guidance updated regularly on the BID website and social media platforms.

As well as financial and legal advice, the hub will share top tips on working from home, home-schooling and looking after personal and employee wellbeing.

The town centre’s Sutton Card scheme will also allow organisations and establishments to publish emergency support services on its platform, sharing vital information on home delivery, takeaway services and designated shopping hours for NHS workers.

As well as supporting local businesses, the BID is calling on the wider community to share any community-led initiatives and assistance put in place to further aid the elderly or vulnerable via its Facebook page SutColdfieldBID.

Mike Bushell, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID Manager, said:

These are undeniably difficult and unprecedented times we are facing as a nation. We have always been dedicated to supporting both our businesses and wider community, and now more than ever we will continue to do so.

While the current climate is evolving rapidly every day, it’s vital that we maintain clear communications with business owners and their employees. We hope the resources and updates we are sharing across our website and social media will provide key information for our business community and we will do whatever possible to provide ongoing support over the coming weeks,” he added.

Local businesses are encouraged to get involved by sharing resources that they’ve found helpful by contacting Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID on info@suttoncoldfieldtowncentre.co.uk.
