Taste of the Mailbox
returns for 2019

Taste of the Mailbox is set to return from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th August to The Mailbox in central Birmingham with a line-up of special culinary guests led by Michelin-starred chef Brad Carter.

Now in its fourth year, Taste of the Mailbox will present visitors with a mouth-watering programme of events from expert masterclasses, live demonstrations, a pop-up farmers’ market, complimentary sampling and more as the much-anticipated festival returns, bigger and better than ever.

To kick off the weekend of events, Mailbox will welcome some of the region’s most loved culinary experts. Birmingham-born chef Brad Carter is set to take residency in the premium Kitchen Gallery to offer visitors an exclusive Michelin standard masterclass on Saturday 3rd August.

Social media sensations Original Flava, brothers Shaun and Craig, will be bringing delicious and authentic Caribbean treats to the centre’s Canalside on Saturday 3rd August. Meanwhile, guests on Level 3 will be able to enjoy the sights and smells of the prestigious Ludlow Food Festival from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th August, as their finest crop of local producers bring a slice of Ludlow and the Welsh Marches to Birmingham.

Taste of the Mailbox

To celebrate its ever-popular food and drink offering, Mailbox will showcase its most loved bars and restaurants across the weekend with complimentary food sampling and interactive cocktail masterclasses.

Expect to taste a delicious selection of Caribbean delights, meaty treats and mouth-watering burgers as well as a refreshing cocktail or two. Across the three days, a number of flavourful events will take place throughout the centre, including an intimate wine tasting session in Harvey Nichols’ striking private dining room on Sunday 4th August. A full programme and an additional line-up of special guests will be announced over the coming weeks.

David Pardoe, head of marketing, retail and tenant engagement at The Mailbox, said:

This year’s Taste of the Mailbox is set to be our best yet with an incredibly exciting line-up that not only showcases our incredible food and drink offering, but celebrates some of the finest culinary talent across the region. From celebrity masterclasses to live cookery demonstrations and an extensive selection of complimentary taster sessions, there’ll be something to excite the taste buds of each and every guest. We can’t wait to reveal the full details of all we have to offer for this year’s festival – this is certainly set to be our best yet!”
